Do you have Mold? Is it toxic mold? Do you have Water Damage from a Flooded Basement which is causing moisture to buildup in your home or business? The moisture associated with water intrusions will promote the growth of such as Stachybotrys, Penicillium, Aspergillus, and Cladosporium.

The longer an indoor contaminant is allowed to remain intact, the greater its potential impact on human health and on the structural integrity of the facility. Mold can grow on most common building materials if they remain wet for 24 to 48 hours. Special care must be taken during the and restoration process or serious health hazards can develop.
Our Mold remediation technicians are fully trained and are proficient with the latest equipment, materials and techniques. We specialize in remediation of mold, bacteria, water and Sewer Damage Cleanup in you facility.

You can reach us at 1-800-222-6815 if you are having any water, fire, smoke, or mold problems or are in need of any Document drying !

Mold Remediation Methods and Equipment

Mold remediation is a technique employed in occupational health aimed at cleaning up and eliminating mold from an indoor environment. Molds are considered to pose adverse health problems. Thus, mold remediation is an important step in ensuring that people continue to live safely and healthily inside indoor places.

Molds can't be removed by exposing area with surface growth to dry air, high heat, or by treating it with fungicide. Bleach solutions and other commercial mold remover do work in removing molds.

Mold remediation is regarded today as the most effective way to clean and eliminate molds. There are a variety of methods used to achieve mold remediation on buildings and furnishings caused by mold growth. Each method will vary with the type of material it will be used on.

1. Wet vacuum is designed to collect and remove accumulated water on carpets, floors, and other solid surfaces. Wet vacuuming should be done only while surface is still wet. When done, thoroughly clean wet vacuum cleaner because spores may attach to equipment surfaces. After cleaning vacuum cleaner, let dry.

Damp wipe is the use of detergent/bleach solution-water mixture to clean non-porous surfaces of molds. After you've damp wiped the affected areas, let dry quickly to inhibit new mold growth. Carefully read cleaning instructions for the most effective way to remove molds. If you have soaked up porous materials that show mold growth, it is best to throw them away. Molds can penetrate porous materials, including crevices and empty spaces, making them impossible or hard to clean out and remove.

High Efficiency Particulate Air (HEPA) vacuum provide the finishing cleanup in mold remediation. Since this is used in the final mold remediation process, see to it that all cleaned up materials and surfaces are completely dry and all contaminated materials are disposed of. It is also strongly suggested that outside areas surrounding mold remediation areas should be HEPA vacuumed. When using HEPA vacuum, workers should don PPE (personal protective equipment) to prevent mold spore inhalation and skin and eye exposure to mold.

As it is with methods, there are also a number of varied equipments to be used in mold remediation:

1 - A Moisture meter is a device used to measure the level of moisture in indoor materials. Moisture meter can also be used to determine how well damaged materials are drying out. This tool can be used on sundry materials including bricks, woods, and carpets.

2 - A Humidity gauge is a measurement device that determines humidity level inside a building or house.

3 - Borescope is a device that shows if inside of walls, ceilings and other such tight spaces have mold growths or traces without having to drill or create a cut across walls.

4 - Infrared thermal imaging or themagraphic camera tends to be used with a moisture meter to verify findings of moisture meter.

Again, wearing PPE or personal protective equipment is essential to protect oneself from mold and contaminant exposure during mold remediation process. A PPE consists of goggles, impervious suit, gloves, and respirators.
